The sight of dust-red elephant wallowing, rolling and spraying each other with the midnight blue waters of palm-shaded Galana River is one of the most evocative images in Africa. This, along with the 300 kilometers long Yatta Plateau, the longest lava flow in the world, make for an adventure unlike any other in the Tsavo East. The park forms the largest protected area in Kenya and is home to most of the larger mammals, vast herds of dust –red elephant, Rhino, buffalo, lion, leopard, pods of hippo, crocodile, waterbucks, lesser Kudu, gerenuk and the prolific bird life features 500 recorded species.
From the sight of fifty million gallons of crystal clear water gushing out of from the under parched lava rock that is the Mzima Springs to the Shetani lava flows, Tsavo West is a beautiful, rugged wilderness. The savannah ecosystem comprises of open grasslands, scrublands, and Acacia woodlands, belts of riverine vegetation and rocky ridges including the Poacher's Lookout where visitors can see the teeming herds in the plains below. Tsavo West offers some of the most magnificent game viewing in the world and attractions include elephant, rhino, Hippos, lions, cheetah, leopards, Buffalos, diverse plant and bird species including the threatened corncrake and near threatened Basra Reed Warbler.

leave very early in the morning from your beach hotel towards Mombasa-Nairobi highway to the first gate of Tsavo East National Park (Bachuma Gate) start with game viewing looking for lions, elephants, cheetahs, leopards, gazelles, antelopes and different kind of birds. Stop at Aruba Dam (main water body) for game viewing and photo taking. Later drive to Lodge/Camp for lunch. After lunch relax by the pool watching the animals coming by the nearby water to quench their thirst. At 3.30 pm coffee and go for the afternoon game viewing till late evening. Dinner and Overnight at your lodge/Camp.
Leave very early morning after coffee for a game viewing and return for breakfast after breakfast check out at the Lodge/Camp and drive to Tsavo West National park. With game en-route to Lodge/Camp for lunch, after lunch relax by swimming pool cooling your body and watching the animals drinking water by the nearby waterhole. Later go for the evening game drive, visiting the Rhino Sanctuary until 6pm, Dinner and Overnight at Lodge /Camp.
Very early breakfast and check out the Lodge/Camp and start with a visit to Mzima Springs for hippos and crocodiles. Take your nature walk at Mzima spring where all the water from Mt Kilimanjaro come underground then burst from the volcanic lava rocks therefore making big pool of water where you will find hippocampus, crocodiles and different kinds of birds. After walking at Mzima springs drive out of Tsavo West National Park for lunch and back to your coastal hotel.
